Today's Federation Cup was more than a victory by Goulburn Strikers over Woden Valley FC. It was a most emphatic statement by the Gouldburn Strikers that they had arrived in the Premier League.
They are a well prepared and coached Football team, fast, fit and play in good style. A real tonic for the Capital Football Premier League.
Best of all - as their Club President made clear, with considerable and justifiable pride "they are all Goulburn boys".

In fairness, I cannot bring myself to dwell on the 6-? scoreline my team received at the hands of these speedy bushrangers! I was too much in awe of the Strikers performance and not for the first time in 2010.
When the Strikers coach substituted players it seemd to make no difference. Fit, fast, tradesman like, oustanding finishing, rapid counter attack and reliable depth were my thoughts as teh game unfolded. Something else too - they played in good style. Their supporters were a pleasure to talk too. Everything about them seemed neat and tidy.
Well done the Goulburn Strikers - great start to 2010.
