Respect the Game - Do you?

This one is for all the parents that live vicariously through thier children and coaches that think that winning is all there is to the game, they inhabit the sidelines on game day, hurl torrents of abuse and think that their kids play for their entertainment. 

You lot are the same mob that hurl the abuse at the young referees. How very brave of you all! You lot are just gormless bullies!You lot do untold damage to our game. Have you ever, ever asked yourself these three questions:

1. How would I feel if it was my son or daughter out there as referee and copping the abuse you let fly every game from the sideline?
2. How would I feel if that abuse resulted in my son or daughter simply leaving the game?
3. Do you have any idea how much you hurt these kids?

Its never too late to shut up! Find a far off gum tree, stand under it and get out of the line of site of your child and far enough away for your voice not to be heard by your child or any other young player. Then you might just see enough of the game to begin to enjoy it.
